The role will be full time during term time and will be for the remainder of this academic year in the first instance. The school are open to offering a permanent role for a fixed term contract for the right candidate. An Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA) is a specialist teaching assistant who supports children's social and emotional well-being, usually under the guidance of an Educational Psychologist. They plan and deliver tailored one-to-one or small-group interventions addressing issues such as anxiety, bereavement, anger management, and friendship skills. Key Responsibilities and Duties Intervention Delivery: Plan and deliver evidence-based, personalised sessions (one-to-one or small groups) focused on emotional regulation and social skills. Assessment & Monitoring: Set SMART targets, monitor pupil progress, and maintain accurate, confidential records of all interventions. Liaison & Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and parents to review progress and ensure consistent support.
