Hays Recruitment have partnered with Leicestershire County Council in the search for a Senior Technical Specialist with a strong knowledge of Unifiedms.
As the SME in the team, you will own and be responsible for the provision of maintenance, support, development and consultancy for specific technology stacks within the Unifiedms infrastructure to ensure that IT system services remain stable, reliable and resilient in a cost-effective manner.
Mentoring and guiding technical specialists and other technical staff is key as part of the knowledge-sharing ethos within the team.
You will also be expected to co-ordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements.
Your new role will involve
1. Own, support, install and implement IT infrastructure solutions related to Unifiedms and Corporate email delivery.
2. Liaise with team members, the wider IT department and our customers
3. Advise on technical and security standards to ensurepliance, security of systems and services to maintain high service availability.

What you need to succeed
15. In-depth experience of Unifiedms, ideally in a public sector organisation
16. Demonstrable experience in messaging, Exchange and O365
17. Demonstrable experience and understanding of secure email gateways
18. Strong understanding of email routing
19. Ability to demonstrate awareness of the end-to-end Unifiedms stack
20. The ability to manage the life cycle and be an expert in your tech stack
21. Knowledge of Microsoft, Oracle, Solaris, Linux and VMWare is advantageous.
22. Strong desire to future-proof perimeter security against future threats
23. Ability to mentor and knowledge share
There will be occasional out of hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you will need to be within an hour of the location and have your own transport.Sponsorship is not available for this role
