Derby Market Hall is situated in the heart of the City Centre, and has undergone a huge transformation turning it into much more than a market. Beside the traditional market stalls, we have a thriving food court, a pop-up make and trade offer and a wide programme of events all centred around celebrating the best of Derby and Derbyshire, and creating a destination to stay and enjoy as part of Derby’s evolution.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic, creative individual that can help us plan and deliver an exceptional events program ensuring the Market Hall is a great environment for the public to come together, enjoy themselves and come back for more!

The successful candidate will manage a variety of relationships and operational practices and will be a key part of the Market Hall’s success. They’ll work flexibly across our seven day week, be able to manage a host of priorities, and be a great communicator. The Opportunity
In the role of Markets & Events Officer, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
Developing and sustaining an excellent and diverse events program for the Market Hall.
Providing the highest levels of customer service for all visitors to the Market Hall.
Promote and maximise the use of the hireable events spaces.
Provide a high quality and safe experience for all audiences and attendees.
Working flexibly across our seven-day week to support the day to day operational running of the Market Hall.
About You
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have...
• Experience of working on event planning and delivery within a market or venue environment
• Knowledge of local events community including artists, promoters and cultural partners
• An ability to work flexibly and in collaboration with partners
• Excellent communication skills
• A positive can-do attitude
