About Division / Function:

The Internal Audit (IA) function forms part of our central Flutter Functions Finance team. As a team with a group wide remit, we are uniquely positioned to provide independent and objective assurance and advisory services to the Board, Audit Committee, and Senior Stakeholders across the globe. Whether in our Australian brand Sportsbet, our US market leader FanDuel, or brands throughout Europe which include PaddyPower, Betfair, Sisal, Pokerstars and others Our team is made up of fun, enthusiastic and inquisitive people from diverse backgrounds and varying skillsets. These include Finance, IT, Data Analytics, Regulatory & Compliance expertise amongst many other skills. Even though we're diverse in skills, we have a common goal in helping the business achieve its strategic objectives through being an insightful and impactful strategic business partner – whether through assurance or advisory.

Role Summary

The Head of IT Audit is responsible for overseeing the auditing process of the organisation's information technology systems. The Head of IT Audit will be a key member of the Flutter Functions Internal Audit team, owning key relationships and providing technical leadership support to our regional and divisional Internal Audit leads.

What you'll do:

* Develop and Implement Audit Plans: Create and execute comprehensive IT audit plans to assess the effectiveness and compliance of IT systems and controls.
* Develop a comprehensive view of the critical technology landscape that underpins the business, identifying key risks anc controls to support audit planning.
* Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor IT audit staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments and external auditors to facilitate integrated audits and ensure knowledge sharing across the IA team.
* Audit Reporting: Delivering and managing the teams timely production of high quality concise audit issues, findings and audit reports
* Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on IT trends, developments, and regulatory changes to continuously improve audit practices.
* Ensuring the appropriate application, and contributing to ongoing development of, the Internal Audit methodology
* Act as delegate / deputy for Director of IT Audit at meetings and Committees where appropriate.
* Champion the use of data analytics used by direct responsible audit teams.

What you'll need:

* Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyse complex IT systems and identify potential risks and inefficiencies.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop a team of auditors.
* Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present audit findings and recommendations.
* Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in audit processes and reporting.
* Problem-Solving: Ability to develop practical solutions to complex IT issues.
* Ability to influence change at all levels of management, particularly at a senior level, including the ability to establish and develop & establish strong working relationships.
* Advanced understanding of governance, risk management and internal controls, including proper assessment of their design and implementation.
* Advanced ability to identify thematic audit issues and associated risks, root causes and provide practical solutions. Working with the audit team to report impactful issues and drive meaningful change.
* Advanced project/time management skills. i.e. Ability to oversee and manage multiple audit projects, early identification of cross-project dependencies and impacts, and act to de-risk project delivery impact.

Qualifications & Experience

* Relevant Financial, Risk and / or Audit qualifications required. (Educated to degree level or equivalent).
* History of successfully leading IT Audit teams, including people development.
* Strong understanding of IT systems, data security, and IT controls. Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
* Strong understanding of cyber security risk and global frameworks (NIST CSF 2.0, ISO 27001)
* Experience in the gambling sector or a similar highly regulated environment would be an advantage.
* Experience in planning, managing and delivering audits from Big 4 or similar would be an advantage.

Measure of Success

* Develop a robust understanding of the business, its IT risk and auditable landscape and able to identify priority areas for assessment.
* Leading and develop a team of inquisitive auditors to deliver audit plans on time and to a high quality.
* Providing insightful and impactful reporting, both on individual audit level and to Executive stakeholders through regular updates and reports
