Workshop Manager & Lead Vehicle Technician Required in Cheltenham
1. Salary: Between £36-45,000 per annum, pending experience.
2. Hours: 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday with flexibility on these hours.
Our client, an independent automotive service centre situated in Cheltenham that specialises in light commercial vehicles, is currently looking to recruit a Workshop Manager/Lead Vehicle Technician for their business.
Reporting to the Business Owner and working as part of a friendly workshop team, your key responsibilities will include:
3. Managing and scheduling the workshop diary.
4. Overseeing and carrying out mechanical work as required (primarily vehicle preparation, servicing, repairs, diagnostics, and occasional retail work).
5. Ordering parts and managing suppliers.
6. Dealing with inbound calls and customer queries relating to workshop work.
7. Invoicing customers and handling workshop administration.
8. Managing standards, workflow, and priorities across internal, external, and warranty jobs.
To be eligible, you will need to be a highly competent Vehicle Technician with experience supervising or managing a workshop team. So if you run your own garage and no longer want the hassle of doing so, or if you're someone senior who is ready to step up into a role with real autonomy and responsibility, but without the financial exposure of ownership, then we want to hear from you!
Overall, you must be able to produce a high quality of work in a busy workshop environment and be motivated to work towards targets set for your team. You will also have a great customer-facing experience in a relevant role, and have the ability to lead from the front, energise, motivate and develop your team. IT literacy and a UK driving licence with minimal points are also essential.
What's in it for you? For your hard work as a Workshop Manager/Lead Vehicle Technician, our client is offering…
9. Starting salary between £36-45,000 per annum, pending experience.
10. Optional overtime, including Saturdays (ideally 1 in 4 from 9:30am-12:30pm), subject to availability.
11. 28 days annual leave (including the bank holidays).
12. Workplace pension scheme.
13. Access to in-house technical training and development.
14. Private health coverage.
15. Opportunity to work with a friendly local garage operating for over 45 years.
16. Working hours from 8:30am-5:30pm Monday to Friday with flexibilitiy on these hours.
