Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in Sage 50 and Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage Accounts Payable and Receivable (Creditors and Debtors), ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments.
* Maintain accurate financial records and perform general ledger reconciliations.
* Prepare VAT returns in compliance with current HMRC regulations, including ensuring accurate VAT coding and documentation.
* Process and track Pleo transactions in line with internal policies.
* Use the QuickBooks Timesheet app to monitor and support payroll-related processes.
* Ensure proper documentation with a well-organised filing and record-keeping system.
* Communicate effectively with staff and third parties.
* Handle various ad hoc finance and admin tasks as required.
* Support the Financial Director by providing regular updates, reports, and assistance with queries.
* Work within a small office environment, requiring a team-oriented attitude and flexibility in daily responsibilities.
Key Requirements:
* Proven bookkeeping experience is essential.
* Hands-on experience preparing VAT returns is required.
* Intermediate level Excel skills as a minimum.
* Experience using Sage 50, QuickBooks Timesheet App, and Pleo is required.
* Strong experience with Creditors, Debtors, and General Ledger reconciliation.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and communicate across the business and with third parties.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
* Highly organised, detail-focused, and capable of managing your own workload independently.
* Discretion and integrity when handling sensitive financial information.
