We are an ambitious organisation, and we are looking for an equally ambitious and innovative Cost Engineer to join our dynamic Cost Benchmarking & Budget Setting team.

Responsibilities:
1. Cost estimation for software design and development, unit piece cost and vendor tooling
2. Budget setting by part for full programmes
3. Supporting global Cost Benchmarking & Budget Setting activities
4. Generation of cost reduction ideas
5. As you would expect, being a global organisation, working cross functionally across the business (Inc. R&D, Product Planning & Market Intelligence) will be an essential part of the role
Background and Experience:
6. A strong background in software project planning or cost estimation
7. Considerable industry experience working for an OEM or Tier 1 Supplier in Automotive, Motorsport, Defence or Aerospace industries would be advantageous
8. An ability to perform Function Point Analysis
9. A good understanding of electrical/electronic components
10. A good understanding of how parts are manufactured and assembled
11. An understanding of the main drivers that affect costs
12. Some specialist manufacturing process experience such PCB assembly, EOL test and Software Flash
13. You need to be a self-motivated character with the ability to work in a team and on your own and a good communicator
