We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring that all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
* Assist the head cook in meal preparation and cooking tasks.
* Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, and measuring as required.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
* Help with plating dishes and ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
* Support inventory management by checking stock levels and reporting shortages.
* Follow recipes accurately and adhere to portion control guidelines.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient service during peak hours.
Skills
* Strong interest in culinary arts and a passion for cooking.
* Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards.
* Experience in a restaurant or kitchen environment is advantageous but not essential.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
