Purchase Ledger Interim – 3 months – Newquay
Your new company
You’ll be joining a well-established organisation with a strong presence across the South West, operating in a multi-site environment. Their central support office in Cornwall provides essential services to the wider business, and they are now looking to strengthen their finance team with the addition of a Purchase Ledger Officer.
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Management Accountant, you’ll be responsible for maintaining an accurate and fully reconciled purchase ledger. You’ll process invoices and credit notes, complete supplier statement reconciliations, resolve queries, and liaise with internal budget holders to ensure correct coding and authorisation of invoices. You’ll also monitor aged creditors, investigate debit balances, and support supplier reviews to ensure value for money. This role also includes general finance team support and participation in health and safety procedures.
What you'll need to succeed
You’ll have proven experience of managing a purchase ledger and be confident in account reconciliation and posting journals. Strong IT skills, particularly in Sage, Excel, Word, and Outlook, are essential. You’ll be a team player with a proactive attitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work to deadlines. Experience in the childcare or education sector would be beneficial but is not essential.
