We are representing a well-established £80m turnover civil engineering contractor based in Nottingham, delivering a wide range of groundworks, roads, and highways projects across the region. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, the business is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to strengthen its operational leadership team.
The Role
As Contracts Manager, you will take responsibility for the successful delivery of multiple civil engineering schemes, ensuring projects are completed safely, on programme, and within budget. You will provide leadership across site teams while maintaining strong client relationships and supporting the strategic objectives of the business.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing and overseeing multiple live civil engineering projects
* Ensuring programmes, budgets, and contractual obligations are met
* Leading site management teams and driving consistent performance
* Acting as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders
* Monitoring project progress and reporting to senior management
* Ensuring high standards of health & safety, quality, and compliance
* Coordinating labour, plant, and resources across projects
* Identifying and managing risks and opportunities
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience in a Contracts Manager role within civil engineering
* Strong background in groundworks and/or roads & highways projects
* Experience managing multiple sites simultaneously
* Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
* Strong understanding of programme delivery and cost control
* SMSTS required (relevant civil engineering qualifications preferred)
