Key Responsibilities
* Work as part of our Commercial Flexibility team to develop the flexibility market within the Yorkshire and Northeast regions
* Develop new Flexibility product types and commercial models, alongside industry working groups, to create new opportunities for flexibility services, including Low Voltage (LV) flexibility and integration with National Energy System Operator flexibility services
* Foster strong relationships with Flexibility Service Providers and aggregators in our region.
* Run flexibility services tender processes, attracting potential suppliers, and supporting them through the registration and bidding process
* Maintain market intelligence over developing flexibility markets and products and develop the internal thinking on how we can best position ourselves for the future of flexibility
* Contribute to industry wide market development with other DNOs by representing Northern Powergrid on industry working groups, including alongside the newly formed Market Facilitator
* Develop flexibility stakeholder engagement strategies to support market development and growth of flexibility markets within Northern Powergrid
Key Competencies
* Highly effective relationship manager – influential with internal and external stakeholders
* Business development experience
* Strong commercial skills to develop and assess the value proposition of new and innovative product offerings
* Energy sector experience and knowledge of the energy transition
* Strong written and spoken communication skills – clear, concise, engaging and persuasive
* Strong project management skills, including financial management
* Good time management skills and able to work on multitude of different tasks at any one time and effectively prioritise
* Advanced IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
Qualifications & Attributes
* Qualified to degree level in a relevant subject
* A good understanding of the journey to net zero and the technologies and policy changes that will enable decarbonisation
* Previous experience working with energy network flexibility services is desirable
* Full driving licence is desirable
