Junior CAD Technician Permanent Full-Time
Salary - Circa 22,500 DOE
Location - Office based in Somercotes

As a Junior CAD Draughtsperson, you'll play an integral role within a busy CAD Office, supporting the design and development of industry-leading mineral processing equipment. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their career, whether you're a recent school, college or university leaver, with a passion for engineering design and a willingness to learn.
Responsibilities, but are not limited to
* Creating accurate 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models (ideally using SolidWorks) across a diverse product range
* Supporting engineering projects from concept through to production, ensuring drawings meet technical and quality standards
* Assisting with the generation and maintenance of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing data using internal systems
* Liaising with cross-functional teams across the UK and internationally to ensure a smooth design-to-production handover
* Developing your understanding of heavy engineering processes, including welding, casting, and machining
* Maintaining clear documentation and ensuring all design work is correctly stored and version-controlled
* Contributing to a collaborative team environment while meeting deadlines and managing multiple design tasks effectively
Experiences required
* A recognised qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject (e.g. GCSEs with relevant technical training, BTEC, HNC/HND or Degree)
* Basic experience or exposure to 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Inventor, Onshape, Fusion 360, Creo, CATIA, etc.) - training will be provided
* A genuine interest in engineering design and manufacturing processes such as welding, casting, fabrication, and machining
* Good IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
* A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to contribute as part of a supportive team
