Job Description

As a Programme Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

1. Managing and delivering multiple projects within the organisation, including competitive and non-competitive bids
2. Ensuring timely provision of project deliverables, performance metrics, and progress reports
3. Maintaining programme budgetary control and effective risk management
4. Leading cross-functional engineering teams and collaborating with customer colleagues
5. Planning and executing various projects using both Waterfall and Agile methodologies
6. Working closely with customers, partners, and suppliers in the defence industry
7. Delivering projects within allocated time, budget, and quality requirements
8. Managing a portfolio of low to medium complexity projects
9. Driving successful delivery of complex engineering projects within the Tactical Communications domain
10. Navigating both traditional (Waterfall) and Agile (SAFe) delivery environments
11. Proactively managing risks, subcontractors, and finances

Qualifications

To be successful in the role you will

12. Proven experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects within the defence or communications sectors.
13. Strong understanding of project governance, planning, and control techniques.
14. Familiarity with tactical communication systems design, development, deployment, and operation.
15. Experience with change management and programme-level frameworks such as MSP and P3M.
16. Comfortable working across both Agile and traditional delivery environments.
17. Demonstrable experience in leading projects of medium to high complexity.
18. Degree-qualified in a relevant discipline (, Engineering, Business, IT) or equivalent experience.
19. Professional certification (, PRINCE2, PMP, APM PMQ, SAFe Agilist) is advantageous.

Additional Information

Salary for this position is £62,000 to £77,500, depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.

We offer hybrid working - for this role ideally we are looking for an average of 2 days per week per month on site.
