I’m working on a brand new mandate with a well-established, purpose-led SME lender operating at the heart of the UK’s social impact and responsible finance market.
The organisation is entering an exciting scaling phase, growing both its lending activity and internal capability to support more SMEs while delivering meaningful social, economic and environmental impact. As part of this journey, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Manager – SME Lending to play a pivotal role in the next stage of growth.

The opportunity
Senior Manager – SME Lending (Social Impact Fund)
* Senior, hands-on role combining business development, lending and leadership
* Responsibility for leading and developing a team of 6 FTE
* Key contributor to routes-to-market strategy, introducer engagement and business development activity
* Ownership of MI, performance reporting and pipeline oversight for the SME lending book
* Active involvement in loan origination, appraisal, credit assessment and sanctioning
* Close collaboration with senior leadership as the organisation scales and evolves
* Clear scope for role expansion and personal development as the business grows
This is very much a lead-from-the-front role — supporting and coaching the team, developing your own introducer relationships, and helping shape a high-performing, values-led lending function.
About you
This role will suit someone who:
* Has strong experience in SME lending with a sound credit and risk background
* Is comfortable balancing origination, team leadership and reporting
* Has experience managing, coaching or mentoring colleagues
* Brings a commercial mindset aligned with purpose-led finance

* Is genuinely passionate about supporting SMEs and committed to the social impact mission
Experience within social impact, CDFI or responsible finance environments is highly attractive, though not essential for the right individual with the right mindset and values.
