PATIENT SAFETY ASSISTANT COORDINATOR - DHA Contract
Synensys is seeking an experienced clinical quality improvement professional to serve as a Patient Safety Assistant Coordinator at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, VA.
The Patient Safety Assistant Coordinator, employed by Synensys as a contractor to the government, supports the Patient Safety Program and performs data analysis at the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF). Responsibilities include advising on program management, ensuring policy adherence, and identifying risk reduction strategies through healthcare data analysis. This position supports the Executive Staff of SGH.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
* Analyze facility-level data such as JPSR, event reports, and PI project data to generate reports, graphs, and charts that inform Patient Safety priorities and improvement targets.
* Assist in verifying compliance with DHA and DoD directives, including developing monthly and annual reports, FMEAs, PRAs, and RCAs.
* Collaborate with MTF staff on risk identification, assessment, and control activities across the facility.
* Ensure all Patient Safety events are reported according to DHA-PM 6025.13, Volume 2, monitor reporting processes, analyze events, and consult with DHA quality and risk managers as needed.
* Collect, analyze, and display data from event reviews, RCAs, and PRAs to prepare lessons learned and disseminate information for PS improvement.
* Serve as an expert advisor on analytical tools such as flowcharting and statistical process control for PS-related PI activities.
* Support the development of proactive strategies to enhance and sustain Patient Safety, applying best practices and safety principles from other agencies.
* Produce annual analytic reports and present findings to MTF leadership to aid decision-making.
