Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Senior Engineer Manager, provide functional and robust electro-mechanical/mechanical designs from marketing specifications and deliver technical solutions within the development of industrial printers.
* Design prototypes, 3D models, assess performance, and iterate designs to meet customer requirements.
* Brainstorming, initial concept generation, rapid prototyping and testing to identify issues, solve problems and improve designs.
* System-level design of complex mechanical/electro-mechanical components.
* Participate in design reviews and DFMEA analysis of design concepts/prototypes to identify potential failure modes and improve the design.
* Use SolidWorks CAD to produce manufacturing documentation (drawings, specs, etc.).
* Develop Test Plans to validate design solutions.
* Provide technical support for other departments as needed, including conducting feasibility studies and project reviews.
Qualifications
* Electro-mechanical/Mechanical background, especially experience in the design of small-size products.
* Willingness to perform hands-on assembly and test work related to design verification.
* Ability to express technical matters clearly, both orally and in writing.
