Marine Designer - Contract (6 Months)
Surrey | £52 per hour | Outside IR35 | Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days remote)
RHL Recruitment, working with a leading oil and gas EPC contractor, who are seeking two experienced Senior Marine Designers to join a high-profile offshore project, on an initial 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role within a dynamic Marine Team, supporting the delivery of complex offshore design scopes while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across global offices.
The Role
As a Marine Designer, you will:
* Support and lead within the Marine Team
* Liaise closely with other engineering disciplines, clients, and vendors
* Coordinate with global project teams to deliver work within agreed timelines and budgets
* Provide technical guidance and mentor Junior designers
* Manage and oversee remote design teams
* Develop project-specific job notes, guides, and training materials to ensure consistent deliverable's
* Organise team schedules and allocate resources to meet project milestones
* Break down project scopes to drawing level and estimate resource requirements
* Work effectively in a hybrid office based environment
Requirements
* Marine & Structural Designer with formal qualification and/or significant on-the-job training
* Minimum 10 years' experience in marine design
* Strong proficiency in Aveva Marine
* Demonstrable leadership experience managing remote teams
* Ability to prioritise workload and respond effectively to urgent issues
* Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Comfortable working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
* Willing and able to work 3 days per week in the Surrey office
Contract Details
* Rate: £52 per hour
* IR35 Status: Outside IR35
* Duration: 6 months (initial)
* Location: Surrey (Hybrid working model)
