Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About Gloucestershire County Cricket Club

Founded in 1870, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club is one of the 18 first-class counties in English cricket. As we look to grow the game and foster stronger connections with communities across the region, we are investing in a strategic approach to audience development and digital engagement.

Role Purpose

The Head of Audience Development will play a pivotal role in transforming how GCCC connects with new and existing audiences. The successful candidate will lead a cross-functional strategy to grow, diversify, and deepen the Club’s membership and fanbase — delivering meaningful engagement through digital platforms and community. This is a senior leadership role with significant influence on the commercial and cultural future of the Club.

Key Responsibilities

* Responsible for managing the Marketing and Communications team alongside the Ticketing and Membership department.
* Develop and execute a long-term audience development strategy aligned with GCCC’s strategy, vision, and commercial goals.
* Lead and oversee the end-to-end delivery of a comprehensive branding project for the Club, again to ensure alignment with the club’s values, strategic goals, and stakeholder expectations.
* Define clear audience segments and engagement objectives (e.g. youth, diverse communities, memberships, families, corporate, casual fans).
* Collaborate with senior stakeholders to integrate audience insights into business planning, marketing, ticketing and matchday experience.

Audience Growth & Engagement

* Drive data-led initiatives to increase attendance, membership, digital reach and fan loyalty.
* Oversee CRM, digital marketing and content strategies to optimise fan acquisition and retention.
* Work with colleagues to develop campaigns and programmes that engage underrepresented communities and new demographics.
* Represent GCCC at community forums, networking events and relevant panels or working groups.

Matchday & Event Experience

* Be part of the Senior Leadership team that manages on audience experience across matchdays and Club events, working closely with the Operations and Events teams.

Data, Reporting & Insights

* Set and track KPIs to measure the impact of audience development initiatives.
* Work with the Head of Finance to develop dashboards and reporting tools to inform decisions.
* Work with the relevant ECB teams and other stakeholders to ensure we are working towards common objectives within the game.
* Provide regular reports to the CEO and Board.

Experience & Skills Required

* Minimum 5 years' experience in audience development, fan engagement, marketing or related fields.
* Proven track record in developing and delivering strategies that drive audience growth and engagement.
* An inspiring manager, able to evidence excellent team leadership and development of people.
* Strong understanding of data-driven marketing, CRM systems, web development and digital engagement tools.
* Strong communication and stakeholder engagement ability.
* Passion for sport, events, culture and community impact.
* Experience working in a sporting, live events, or entertainment environment.
* Understanding of EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) principles and how they apply to audience strategy.
* Familiarity with the cricket landscape in the UK.
