We are looking for a Head Housekeeper to join the Grantley Hall team. The successful candidate will have full responsibility for the cleanliness of the entire hotel, delivering a world-class product and ensuring the Housekeeping department runs smoothly on a day-to-day basis at the highest possible standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assume responsibility for creating an ongoing training programme for all members of the Housekeeping department
* Provide new team members with the departmental induction and ensure training is delivered in a personalised manner, setting the team member up for success
* Take responsibility for the completion of rotas for Deputy/Assistant Managers, Supervisors, Room Attendants, Public Areas, Turndown and other department members, ensuring the department operates within budget at all times
* Analyse variances between budget and rota forecast daily to maintain optimal staffing levels
* Supervise team members servicing bedrooms to ensure the highest standard is delivered
* Ensure bedrooms are completed within set timeframes to maximise efficiency
* Oversee monthly stock take for linens and guest amenities; keep paperwork up to date and records accessible
* Oversee lost property procedures, ensure items are logged, secured, and disposed of appropriately
* Inspect and maintain machinery and equipment (including laundry) for faults; report defects to maintenance and raise works with third-party providers or contractors
* Ensure team members raise hazards, product or building defects to maintenance promptly
* Maintain awareness of Health & Safety requirements and ensure safe working methods
* Ensure COSHH sheets are up to date and that all team members have read and understood them
* Complete requests from Heads of Department and Senior Management promptly
Key Skills, Qualities & Experience
* Previous experience managing a large team is essential
* Previous experience as a Head Housekeeper in a 5-star hotel is desirable
* Hands-on approach to work, productive and focused on improvement
* Motivated to go the extra mile for guests and colleagues
* Experience working with Forbes and LQA brand standards is desirable
* Flexible mindset and ability to adapt to shifting priorities within a diverse team
