The Opportunity
We are seeking a Revenue Controller to join our established Finance team on a permanent basis. This role will be a fundamental part of the team and will play a vital role in the continued success of the business. The role offers great scope for development and would suit an individual looking to develop their finance career.
The role would suit an individual who is an experienced Revenue Controller or has relevant experience in a similar role that can build upon and develop in this role. Training on our systems and processes will be provided during a supportive and robust induction process.

Key Responsibilities
* Action billing instructions within required timeframes.
* Review Work in Progress (WIP) balances, especially aged WIP.
* Manage team WIP proactively; conduct monthly reviews; identify aged WIP and reasons for non-billing; handle write-offs following policies.
* Capture details such as arrangements (e.g., Fixed Fee, Contingent WIP/matters, or alternative funding) per initiatives.
* Ensure accurate data capture, reduce income leakage, and improve FE engagement.
* Manage HR Retainers/Bank of Hours.
* Support team and wider business as a focal point.
* Keep the Working Capital Manager informed of workload issues.
* Implement process improvements.
* Undertake ad hoc responsibilities and projects as assigned.
* Assist fee-earners with reporting requests (fee levels, billing reports).
* Build strong relationships with Matter Partners through regular reviews.
* Maintain focus on timely billing to meet targets and schedules.
Requirements
Essential
* Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in legal or professional services.
* Excellent knowledge of Billing & WIP management.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Confident, proactive, able to handle partner discussions effectively.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and professionalism.
* Ability to prioritize and multitask under tight deadlines.
* Self-motivated, with high initiative, and team-oriented.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and general IT systems.
* Attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Customer-focused approach.
* Ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
* Flexible to work outside normal hours if needed.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a law firm is advantageous.
