RWE Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST) is the interface between the RWE Group’s operating companies and global wholesale markets for energy and energy-related raw materials. It is a leading European energy trading house.
Our “Site Reliability Engineering” team is part of RWEST IT, with members located in Essen (Germany), Swindon, and London (UK). We support various applications, analyze systems (ETRM, RISK, etc.), research problems, perform maintenance, coordinate projects, and develop cloud-native and in-house/external application tools in the energy market. The Endur Analyst role focuses on ensuring system stability by monitoring infrastructure and assisting the business with day-to-day issues like trade capture, APM services, and EoD maintenance. The role involves problem solving, stakeholder communication, incident and problem management, and supporting CI/CD deployment.
1. Provide operational support by analyzing systems, researching issues, and coordinating maintenance of applications.
2. Improve processes through automation and monitoring enhancements using platforms like Elastic and Grafana.
3. Perform daily infrastructure and health checks, identify root causes of failures, and coordinate fixes with development teams.
4. Manage Endur data and workflows, especially during EOD processes.
5. Gather requirements from business and IT teams to develop solutions for incidents and service requests.
6. Coordinate with stakeholders for quick issue resolution, incident management, and configuration changes.
7. Work within a DevOps model to develop enhancements and coordinate releases.
8. Contribute to bug fixes, change requests, and application enhancements in collaboration with ETRM stakeholders.
9. Participate in shift rotations, including 24/7 on-call support and occasional travel.
10. Assist in migrating legacy applications to cloud platforms like AWS, including multi-account setups.
11. Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
12. Have basic knowledge of the ETRM domain and experience with Endur modules such as Trading Manager and Market Manager.
13. Experience with APM, simulations, EOD batch/risk reports, and trade lifecycle management.
14. Experience with system upgrades, regression testing, bug tracking, and ION functionalities.
15. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, JVS, OpenComponents) and databases (Oracle, RDS).
16. Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.
17. Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
18. Ability to deliver end-to-end solutions, from requirements gathering to deployment in an agile environment.
19. Interest in expanding IT operations in Endur, adopting best practices, and DevOps methodologies.
