Job Title: Engagement Worker
Location: Havering, based within the service. Unfortunately, this service does not have step-free access.
Salary: £27,000
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday. Shifts vary between 09:00 - 17:00 or 13:00 - 21:00 on a rota basis. Bank holiday work is required if scheduled.
About the role
We seek an Engagement Worker for our residential service in Havering, a 25-bed, 24-hour facility supporting adults with complex needs in supported accommodation. Your focus will be on providing social contact and support to enhance residents' quality of life, safety, health, security, tenancy sustainment, and financial independence. You will help residents develop skills for greater independence and community reintegration. Our residents typically are:
* Single, vulnerable, with multiple disadvantages including hospital discharges, substance use, and mental health issues
* Street homeless with multiple disadvantages
* Aged 18 to 55 years
* Willing to reduce substance use and engage with treatment services
The role involves diverse daily tasks, including running activities, supporting sessions, arranging external and in-house activities, and assisting with appointments.
