Our client, a leading precision engineering manufacturer based in Lymington, is currently seeking an experienced CNC Turner to join their growing manufacturing team.
Operating across highly regulated industries including aerospace, defence, oil & gas, marine, and telecommunications, the business specialises in the manufacture of complex, high-precision machined components and assemblies using state-of-the-art machining technology and advanced manufacturing processes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC machinist looking to work within a technically advanced environment, producing precision-engineered components to extremely tight tolerances.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible forprogramming, setting, and operation of CNC lathes, producing small batch, high-precision components for demanding engineering sectors. This role would suit someone with strong experience operating within precision manufacturing environments and a solid background working with Mazak and/or Fanuc control systems.
Key Responsibilities Programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes
Reading and editing CNC programs
Producing high-precision machined components to tight tolerances
Working from engineering drawings, stage drawings, and job cards
Following set-up sheets and manufacturing procedures accurately
Interpreting technical drawings and GD&T requirements
Ensuring all work is completed in line with quality and safety standards
Carrying out work in accordance with the company's quality systems and safe systems of work
Working both independently and as part of a wider manufacturing team
Candidate Requirements: Essential Experience Minimum 3 years experience machining large components within a high-precision manufacturing environment
Minimum 5 years experience operating Mazak and/or Fanuc controls
Experience working from engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions
Strong understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Experience programming, setting, and operating CNC lathes
Broad machining knowledge across a range of materials and applications
Strong understanding of component handling and protection during manufacture
Right to live and work in the UK
Desirable Experience Knowledge of modern tooling and machining techniques
Experience programming Mazak and/or Fanuc controls
Experience using hydraulic and manual steadies
Aerospace, defence, oil & gas, or highly regulated manufacturing experience
Qualifications Engineering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent)
Completed a recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering
Security Clearance eligibility desirable
Working Hours 39 hours per week: Monday Thursday: 6:45 am 3:30 pm
Friday: 7:00 am 1:00 pm
