Overview
This job is located at the Auto Hobby Facility on RAF Lakenheath, UK. The position requires shift work on days, evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations. Scheduled hours are 40 hours per week. This position provides the option to elect benefits and annual/sick leave.
Responsibilities
* Ensure the economic and efficient operation of the Auto Skills Complex.
* Manage facilities including a garage, two vehicle repair shops, two auto parts stores, car wash program, POV Sales Lot, MOT inspection program, and a storage compound.
* Implement higher level directives and formulate procedures to maintain high standards of programs and services.
* Establish, review and evaluate purchases of supplies, equipment and resale merchandise; set financial goals based on market analysis; prepare budgets and analyze financial results.
* Maintain accurate inventory and finalize inventory reports.
* Oversee workforce management, recruitment, and staff training.
* Manage real property resources and advise on renovations, improvements, minor and major construction.
* Develop programs involving customer education and customer service incentives.
* Serve as subject matter expert in a highly specialized area; interpret regulations and develop local compliance procedures.
* Represent area of expertise to NAFI and the general public.
* Act as MOT Authorized Examiner Designated Manager (AEDM) and Authorized Examiner Principal (AEP); manage MOT testing operations and quality control in accordance with UK procedures and law.
* Serve as the 48 FSS Vehicle Maintenance Officer (VMO); coordinate day-to-day vehicle fleet operations, maintenance schedules, inspections, and reporting; follow HQ guidelines.
* Monitor expenditures to meet budgeting goals; ensure required accounting documents are submitted.
* Communicate effectively with business and industry representatives, HRO, Marketing and financial management to build relationships.
* Operate government vehicles as required; perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Conditions of employment include a background investigation with favorable results, satisfactory completion of a pre-employment physical, a valid US Driver's License and 3rd AF license, and compliance with random drug testing.

Qualifying experience includes managing a business activity, administrative/professional/technical experience with knowledge of management principles, working knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair, and ability to communicate effectively. Specialized experience includes operation/management of a civilian or military auto servicing center and completion of an MOT test center management or MOT manager course. Experience must include supervision over various phases of an auto servicing center.
Education: This position does not have an education requirement.
