Job Description:
Job Purpose
To deliver an efficient and effective critical care and internal medicine service by providing expertise and clinical activity in the Small Animal Hospital. To enhance and develop the delivery of clinical teaching to undergraduates, clinical scholars, and to undertake clinical research/scholarship within the neurology service, thereby contributing to the School's objectives of excellence in clinical service, teaching, and research at national and international levels.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Clinical: Provide high-quality critical care and internal medicine services, support external referrals, develop novel diagnostic and treatment approaches, contribute to clinical quality assurance, supervise clinical scholars, participate in professional bodies, ensure CPD compliance, and support promotional activities.
* Teaching: Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, develop innovative teaching approaches, participate in assessments, and provide feedback to students.
* Clinical Research/Scholarship: Collaborate on clinical investigations, publish in high-quality journals, and participate in national/international conferences.
* Administration: Develop promotional materials, undertake administrative duties, and contribute to performance reviews.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience
* Essential: Veterinary degree registered with RCVS; for Grade 8, a diploma in critical care or internal medicine; excellent communication, teamwork, advice provision, strategic thinking, presentation skills, independence, veterinary care ability, IT skills; post-graduate clinical experience in critical care/internal medicine.
* Desirable: For Grade 8, PhD or research training, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy; teaching experience at undergraduate level; clinical publications.
Terms and Conditions
Salary: Grade 7/8, depending on experience, plus additional allowances. Full-time, open-ended. Eligibility to work in the UK required, visa sponsorship possible.
