London Spirit is a professional cricket franchise competing in The Hundred. Based at Lord’s, the team combines the historic prestige of MCC with innovative modern sport. The franchise aims to expand its international profile, accelerate digital fan engagement, and position itself as a leading global sports brand.
Dimensions of role
Normal working hours are 09:00–17:00, Monday to Friday (incl. one-hour unpaid lunch). Total of 35 working hours per week.
Key purpose of role
The London Spirit Marketing Manager will plan, coordinate and deliver integrated marketing campaigns that drive ticket sales, audience growth and fan engagement. This hands-on role requires a strong skillset across the full marketing mix, including paid media, CRM, content, digital, social and in-ground activations. The Marketing Manager will act as the central project lead, managing timelines, budgets and stakeholders to ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on brand and to maximum commercial effect. Working closely with colleagues across MCC, The Hundred and external partners, the role will balance creativity with planning to ensure marketing activity is innovative and operationally excellent.
Key tasks and accountabilities
* Lead the planning, coordination and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns across the full London Spirit season – from player announcements and kit launches to ticketing and matchday activations.
* Manage projects end-to-end, creating clear campaign plans, timelines, budgets and stakeholder communications to ensure smooth and efficient delivery.
* Oversee multi-channel execution across CRM, paid media, content, social, website and in-ground activities, ensuring activity is joined-up, insight-led and commercially effective.
* Develop and manage CRM journeys to grow the Spirit fanbase and maximise engagement through targeted, personalised communication.
* Collaborate with creative, content and production teams to deliver standout assets and storytelling that bring the Spirit brand and players to life.
* Act as the main point of contact for agencies, freelancers and suppliers, ensuring work is delivered to brief, on time and on budget.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams at MCC and The Hundred – including Commercial, Ticketing, Digital, Membership, Retail and Communications – to align and amplify campaign activity.
* Track, report and analyse campaign performance, making clear recommendations to optimise effectiveness and return on investment.
* Manage matchday marketing operations and activations, ensuring fans enjoy a seamless, engaging and memorable experience.
* Support, mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative, organised and high-performing working environment.
Variations of job relating to major matches
* Attendance at all major match-days, including weekends, as required.
* Any other duties, whether in the department or elsewhere around the Ground, as required.
Person specifications – Skills, Experience and Qualifications
* Proven experience in planning and delivering integrated marketing campaigns across the full marketing mix (paid media, CRM, content, social, digital and in-ground activations).
* Strong project management skills with the ability to create clear plans, manage budgets, oversee multiple stakeholders and deliver to tight deadlines.
* Experience working with agencies, freelancers and suppliers, ensuring effective briefing, management and delivery.
* Experience working within a sports team, franchise, rights holder or major event environment, with a track record of growing audiences, driving ticket sales and building fan engagement.
* Ability to analyse data and campaign performance, using insight to inform planning, segmentation, optimisation and reporting.
* Strong copywriting and communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging for different channels and audiences.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills, able to influence and inspire colleagues, agencies and partners.
* A proactive, creative and commercially minded self-starter with a focus on results.
* A passion for sport and an understanding of cricket, with the ability to connect with fans and bring the London Spirit brand to life.
