Projects Manager – Finance

About the International Business Service Centre (BSC): The BSC provides high‑quality administrative, transactional, and accounting services to Heidelberg Materials companies worldwide, supporting growth, efficiency, and consistency. Our Chipping Sodbury office is conveniently located near Yate and offers free onsite parking, a café, and excellent transport links.
Role Overview: We are seeking a Finance Projects Manager to support finance transformation activities, including the transition of key processes such as Purchase to Pay, Budget to Report, and Order to Cash into our BSC. Reporting to a Senior Programme Manager, you will own specific projects or workstreams, delivering end‑to‑end with strategic direction and oversight. This role offers the chance to develop expertise in a structured transformation environment while contributing to our evolving finance operating model.
Responsibilities
* Manage the delivery of assigned finance transition projects or workstreams.
* Plan and coordinate activities into the BSC.
* Document and transition processes with appropriate controls.
* Engage with stakeholders across finance, operations, and shared services.
* Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, escalating where appropriate.
* Support process improvements and standardisation initiatives.
* Ensure knowledge transfer and stabilisation of services post‑transition.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA or equivalent), or demonstrable equivalent technical knowledge.
* Experience supporting or delivering finance‑related projects or process improvements.
* Good understanding of accounting principles and finance operations.
* Ability to work collaboratively across cross‑functional teams.
* Strong organisational skills and self‑management of workload.
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Proactive and structured approach to task and project delivery.
Desirable Skills and Experience
* Exposure to finance transformation, centralisation or shared services environments.
* Project management qualification (APM, Prince2, Agile, PMP) or working towards one.
* Experience with ERP systems or finance tools.
* Experience working in a large or multi‑site organisation.
Working Pattern & Travel
Primarily office‑based with flexibility to work from home when appropriate. Occasional international travel may be required; a valid passport is essential.
