Senior Financial Accountant
1. Location: Peterborough (hybrid – minimum one day per month onsite)

3. Annual Salary £58,633 + £6,799 car allowance
4. Hours: Full time - Monday to Friday
An established organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to play a key role in shaping financial policy, enhancing financial governance, and driving improvements across statutory reporting, tax compliance, and technical accounting.
This is a high‑profile role at the centre of financial control and assurance, ideal for someone who enjoys leading on complex financial matters, improving processes, and influencing senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Be Doing
5. Lead the production of accurate, timely statutory accounts to the highest standards.
6. Oversee tax compliance and ensure the organisation remains fully compliant and optimally positioned.
7. Drive improvements to financial systems, processes, and internal controls.
8. Maintain strong balance‑sheet integrity through rigorous reconciliations and asset management.
9. Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to ensure high‑quality financial data.
10. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and government bodies.
11. Provide expert advice on VAT, technical accounting, and regulatory compliance.
12. Manage and develop a small finance team, supporting capability and confidence.
13. Interpret regulatory changes and advise on financial implications.
14. Lead transformation projects that modernise and strengthen financial governance.
About You
15. ACA/ACCA/ICAEW qualified with strong post‑qualification experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, and audit.
16. Deep technical expertise across IFRS, FReM, Charities SORP, and UK tax legislation.
17. Proven experience leading complex audits and reporting cycles.
18. Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
19. Confident communicator with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
20. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
