If you have a calm nature and love interacting with pupils, this is a brilliant opportunity to make a real difference to our school day.The RoleAs a Midday Supervisor, you will be right at the heart of our school community during the busy lunch period.You will assist the Lead Midday Supervisor in providing supervision and play activities on the premises during the midday break.Your duties will include the general supervision of pupils during the lunch period, whether in the dining hall, the playground, or in classrooms during poor weather.You will supervise pupils washing hands before eating and ensure they tidy up in a satisfactory manner.You will interact with the pupils by organising games and equipment to make their break enjoyable.You will deal with first aid matters, report serious incidents to the office staff or School Principal, and ensure any unruly behaviour is reported appropriately.You will ensure pupils are not playing in toilets or cloakrooms and assist in dealing with pupils who have been sick.You will have high expectations of behaviour and discipline at all times, following the school's Behaviour and Anti-Bullying policies.What You Will BringWe are looking for someone who is a fantastic role model for our children.You should have experience of working with children and the ability to relate well to them.You will need good communication skills, both written and oral, to communicate well with children and adults.You must be patient and calm by nature, whilst being firm but fair in matters of discipline.Ideally, you will have some first aid experience and be willing to deal with minor first aid, though training can be arranged.A relevant NVQ2/3 is desirable.You must be willing to undergo training and work collaboratively as part of an established team.You must be familiar with and able to put into practice safeguarding policies and procedures.What We Offer (Why choose LEO Academy Trust?)LEO Academy Trust champions continuous professional development working with a range of partners to offer accessible training for all staff including e-learning and face to face workshops.We offer opportunities to work across different academies within the Trust, and a commitment to promotion opportunities, encouraging ‘home grown’ talent.Comprehensive health & wellbeing package available to all staff.The Small PrintAll candidates should detail how you meet the aspects of the person specification for the role.
