Queenswood School are currently looking to recruit an outstanding English Teacher to join our LIFE (Literacy Is For Everything) team! We are looking for an ambitious, energetic, and committed teacher who will expand the learning experiences of our pupils. The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting our young people who may have autism, ADHD and associated complex needs.
Queenswood School is set across two sites in a beautiful rural location in Herefordshire. We are an Independent Specialist day school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 11 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum. We are looking for an experienced Lead for English across the school.
Main responsibilities:
1. Oversee the planning of curriculum content to improve standards of learning and achievement for all, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress
2. Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the whole school
3. Work with teachers and other subject leads to build links between the LIFE curriculum and the wider curriculum
4. Ensure effective use of resource
You will:
5. Hold UK QTS
6. Have significant classroom experience
7. Have strong knowledge of the English Curriculum
8. Be willing to participate in ongoing professional development
9. Have a passion for English education and inspiring literacy across the whole school
10. Have strong interpersonal skills to foster a positive culture
11. Have a visionary mindset with an ability to innovate and implement change
12. Support LIFE (literacy is for everything) within other subject areas (preferable)
