Project Manager
Purpose of the Job
To have full accountability and responsibility for the safe management and delivery of project works in line with business processes and procedures, working alongside contract teams and clients to generate pipeline sales and opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identify and develop a short, medium, and long-term pipeline of project opportunities from the portfolio of customers within the Business Unit.
2. Use the LCR and FMR to build long-term capex plans for customers.
3. Leverage opportunities through visibility and presence on customer sites.
4. Liaise with colleagues and managers to determine and identify project opportunities.
5. Engage with key stakeholders to understand their requirements and explain the feasibility of their schemes, becoming a trusted advisor.
6. Collaborate with developers, designers, and subcontractors to define and document scope(s) of work(s), ensuring alignment with the project business case, budget, and profit margins.
7. Manage and prepare tenders on behalf of the customer, including full tender analysis of all sub-contractor returns.
8. Work within the current CDM process, primarily taking on the role of principal contractor.
9. Identify, mitigate, and manage all statutory and commercial risks associated with the project.
10. Ensure that QHSE practices and processes are fully embedded in each project.
11. Ensure full compliance with project management policies and procedures.
12. Manage the day-to-day operational aspects of projects from end to end, including estimating, business development, quantity surveying, subcontractor management, and site management duties.
13. Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient project implementation.
14. Ensure customer acceptance is obtained in writing and aligned with project plans.
15. Agree on payment schedules and manage applications for payment to benefit the project and the business.
16. Ensure project documents are complete, current, and properly stored.
17. Provide timely monthly reports to the Head of Projects/Business Unit Director in an agreed format.
18. Manage commercial terms to eliminate risks.
Accountabilities

Education
* Recognized technical qualification in Construction, Mechanical, Electrical, or similar (desirable).
* Degree-level qualification in Project Management (desirable).
Training
* Degree-level qualification within project management, construction management, or equivalent (desirable).
* Business standard of written and verbal literacy and numeracy.
* APM certified (or equivalent) (desirable).
* Prince2 certified (desirable).
* Knowledge of CDM regulations.
* SMSTS certification.
* Nebosh certification.
* CSCS black card holder.
* IOSH certification (desirable).
Experience
* Proven project management experience in M&E, FM, construction, or critical environments.
* Experience in developing new project opportunities.
* Proven experience managing a P&L.
* Experience in costing and proposals.
