Offer description

Manpower is currently seeking an interim Social Media & Content Manager, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, to become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment.

The position is based at Blackfriars on London's Victoria Embankment, just a short walk from Blackfriars tube. This is a full-time temporary role for 12 months (Maternity Cover), to start asap, requiring 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £48,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.

The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.

Why this role

We are looking for an experienced social media and content manager to bring their skills to an undiscovered area of marketing – employer brand. The channels are the same, the challenges are the same – the main difference is our audience. We don't target consumers, but people. Our role is to build Unilever's reputation as an employer and ensure that the right talent discovers, falls in love with, and chooses our company.

In this unique role, you'll help grow our employer brand across social, build vibrant candidate communities, and turn great stories into impactful content pieces, driving measurable talent outcomes.

What you'll do

Lead always-on social media management

* Own the organic social media strategy and execution for our careers' channels (e.g., LinkedIn with 20M followers; Instagram and TikTok). This includes social listening, content calendar creation, creative briefing, publishing, moderation and reporting.
* Be the brand guardian for our Unilever brand, translating this into impactful activations and content for a talent audience.
* Be the key point of contact for local market Employer Brand (EB) leads, guiding and upskilling on content best practices and being the final approver on all EB social media content.
* Translate audience insights into thumb‑stopping, "social‑first" ideas to drive awareness and consideration of Unilever as an employer.
* Bring social-first thinking to full‑funnel employer brand campaigns, partnering with Talent Acquisition, Corporate Affairs, Brand/Comms, and Market teams to embed best practices in all candidate touchpoints.
* Test, learn, and optimise content formats, audience segments, and channels to improve reach, engagement, CTR etc.
* Define KPIs, benchmarks, and goals for employer campaigns; co-create clear, regular performance reports with insights and next steps.

Elevate creator & influencer advocacy

* Support the employee advocacy strategy – ensuring that we create a community of collaborators to elevate our Employer Brand through a balance of trust, experience and fresh energy.
* Lead the end‑to‑end execution of influencer content (briefing, approvals, publishing, measurement).

Make our owned candidate experience outstanding

* Own the content on our careers' sites – ensuring it reflects our EVP and aligns the external narrative from our social media channels.

Bring the outside in

* Spot trends early – e.g.: AI tools, platform shifts, social culture, employer branding best practice - and pilot in partnership with the wider EB team to keep us innovative and efficient.

What you'll bring to succeed

* Passion for marketing: Your love for marketing trumps all else, making you a champion for this (lesser known) audience of
talent
.
* Adaptable and resilient: able to see how traditional marketing and content tactics can apply to the employer brand space and drive this understanding with stakeholders.
* Relationship‑builder: A clear, confident communicator who earns trust with partners to get brilliant work made.
* Bias to action: You make things happen, cut through noise, and keep the end goal front‑and‑centre.
* Results‑oriented: You love great creative and proving it works - relentlessly optimising to hit and exceed targets.

Experience & qualifications

* Minimum 3+ years' experience in digital/social marketing. Bonus: previous employer brand experience.
* Proven track record of running multi‑channel consumer or employer marketing strategies with multiple agencies or stakeholders. Deep knowledge of social platforms and their native best practices is a must. Bonus: being a social media creator in your spare time.
* Experience with reporting and ability to showcase understanding of data driven marketing. Bonus: comfortable with dashboards, experimentation and translating data into decisions.
* Strong design and copywriting capabilities for distinctive, on‑brand assets and impactful, creative storytelling. Bonus: experience with tools like Canva.
* Excellent written, visual and presentation skills with the ability to tailor communication across disciplines and seniority levels.

The team & ways of working

You'll sit in the Global Employer Brand team, located in London in 100VE. The role is truly stretching – allowing you to apply traditional marketing skills into a whole new area of talent.

This is a unique global role – mixing strategy with hands on execution and allowing for collaboration with a mix of teams that don't usually come together (like Talent Acquisition, comms, market teams, agencies, brands and the wider HR community).

You'll manage a flexible roster (creative, community, media, influencer) and work in agile sprints to deliver always‑on and campaign bursts.

Blackfriars working environment:

* Iconic location on the Victoria embankment, modern working environment
* Short walk from Blackfriars station
* Staff shop discounted products
* Free tea & coffee facilities
* Onsite Deli and a restaurant open for breakfast and lunch
* Gym is available for use subscription required.
