We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Operative to support our care home based in the Slough area.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintaining the building and equipment.
2. Carrying out routine checks weekly, monthly, and annually on systems in the home, ensuring external checks are completed within the agreed timeframe (e.g., Loler testing).
3. Monitoring and responding to fire alarm calls, boilers, and lifts.
4. Using resources effectively and efficiently for maintenance or repairs.
5. Conducting banking and purchasing small items for the home.
6. Maintaining the building, grounds, and equipment to ensure the safety of residents, staff, and visitors, including decoration, minor plumbing, and garden maintenance.
7. Maintaining good communication and relationships with other teams and colleagues.
8. Awareness of the home's policies and procedures, especially the Fire Policy.
9. Participating in training and development activities.
10. Training new staff on building layout and fire policies during induction.
11. Maintaining client and business confidentiality at all times.
12. Controlling stock and managing deliveries.
13. Adhering to health and safety requirements.
14. Effective communication within teams, with colleagues, and residents.
15. Performing any additional duties as required.
16. Undertaking relevant training to enhance contribution to the home.
17. Reviewing and updating the job description regularly.
Salary: £14.00 per hour
