Your newpanyHays is working with a respected organisation in Stoke-on-Trent to recruit a Temporary Human Resources Administrator. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who can quickly adapt, work accurately under pressure, and support a wide range of HR processes. This is an immediate-start temporary assignment, initially for several months with the potential for extension. (Client details remain confidential at this stage.)
Your new roleAs a key member of the HR team, you will deliver efficient andpliant HR administrative support across the full employee lifecycle.Your responsibilities will include:
1. Maintaining accurate employee records, updating HR databases and shared systems.
2. Supporting recruitment administration including adverts, shortlisting coordination, interview scheduling, and handling pre-employment checks.
3. Preparing contracts, onboarding packs, and ensuring smooth induction processes for new starters.
4. Processing changes to terms, monitoring probation periods,pleting leavers administration, and preparing HR documentation.
5. Monitoring inbox queries and providing timely guidance to colleagues and managers.
6. Tracking absences, annual leave, and family leave, ensuring all supporting documentation is recorded.
7. Producing routine HR reports such as headcount, starters/leavers data, and absence metrics.
8. Supporting payroll activities by ensuring all data changes are accurately captured before cut-off.
9. Ensuring all HR documentation meets GDPR and employment legislation requirements.
Contract: Temporary (3 months initially, with scope to extend)Hours: Full-time, typically Monday–FridayLocation: Stoke-on-Trent (on-site with possible hybrid flexibility depending on business needs)Start date: ASAP
What you’ll need to succeed
10. Previous experience as an HR Administrator or HR Assistant.
11. Strong administrative accuracy with excellent organisation and attention to detail.
12. Confident working with HR systems/HRIS andpetent in Excel (filters, formulas, basic reporting).
13. Knowledge of right-to-work checks, onboardingpliance, and GDPR expectations.
14. Strongmunication skills with a professional and approachable style.
15. Ability to managepeting priorities and maintain confidentiality.
16. CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) is desirable but not essential if experience is strong.
17. Immediate or short-notice availability.
