Overview
The University of Sheffield Performance Venues team programme and manage live events activity in three principal venues: The Octagon Centre, Firth Hall and the Drama Studio. The cultural output of Performance Venues plays a crucial role in audience connection in the city and contributes to the University’s work in Civic engagement and advancement.
Role
The Marketing and Audience Development Officer is a part-time role that oversees and drives marketing activity for two curated performance festivals, the Enable US Project and University of Sheffield Concerts, and provides support for external events taking place in all three venues. The role shapes the public face and voice of Performance Venues, including regular social media management and related administration. It also contributes to the in-house student internship scheme, providing occasional guidance to the in-post social media and audience development intern roles.
Responsibilities
* Oversee and drive marketing activity for the Enable US Project and University of Sheffield Concerts festivals.
* Provide support for external events taking place in The Octagon Centre, Firth Hall and the Drama Studio.
* Manage regular social media activity and related administration to shape the public face of Performance Venues.
* Contribute to the in-house student internship scheme, providing guidance to in-post social media and audience development intern roles.
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to support audience development and engagement goals.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Experience in marketing, communications or related field, with a focus on live events or venues preferred.
* Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and work with diverse teams.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience with social media management.
* Commitment to supporting inclusive access and engagement in university events.
