Role Responsibility The Lodge has been established as a children’s home for children 11- 18 years, male or female, who have learning disabilities and/or are autistic. These young people/children may also have emotional support needs. All children and young people will be subject to section 20 of the Children Act 1989 and have an allocated Independent Reviewing officer (IRO). The young person may also have an allocated key worker assigned from the Key worker service who will work with the young person leading up to the stay during their time at the unit as well as their transition out. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who is able to work as part of a busy team providing a high standard of leadership skills. Whilst creating a safe, nurturing, fun environment for children and young people of varying needs. To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone who has: - Can lead a shift whilst leading by example to the team and children/young people. - To have completed or be willing to undertake the Diploma level 4 in Residential Childcare or equivalent. - Putting training and knowledge into practice - Excellent time management with a non-bias approach when on shift - To be willing to undertake training in medication management and keep competencies up to date. Ensuring the medication for children is given to the child in compliance with our standard operating procedures. - To work with the team to ensure all children and young people are given the opportunity to gain new positive experiences and social experiences that are inclusive for all. - To communicate with transparency - To have awareness of the Childrens Home (England) Regulations 2015 and put into practice.
