We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic consultants with a special interest in Intensive Care Medicine and related specialties such as Anaesthetics, Emergency Medicine, or other compatible medical fields to join our progressive team of intensivists and allied professionals.
The Trust maintains close clinical and academic ties with local medical schools and is actively involved with the new Kent medical school. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to participate in teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate students affiliated with these universities.
Applicants should possess full GMC registration, a License to Practice, and be on the Specialist Register or within six months of receiving CCT at the time of interview. An Enhanced DBS check (Adults and Children) is required for this position.

The Trust's critical care units are among the best in the UK, with excellent ICNARC outcomes and a strong reputation for evidence-based practice, education, and training. The Intensive Care team comprises a multidisciplinary body of consultants in critical care and other specialties, fostering excellent relationships across the Trust.
The critical care team is heavily involved in research, education, and training. There is a 24/7 Critical Care outreach service, including intensive and long-term vascular access services, with consultant sessions and follow-up clinics.
The successful candidate will join a team of 15 Critical Care Consultants responsible for two critical care units. There are ample opportunities to develop personal interests such as echocardiography, research, governance, outreach, and ICU follow-up.
Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital trust serving a population of approximately 760,000 in South West Kent and North East Sussex, with some specialist services reaching a wider population of around 2 million in Kent, Medway, and East Sussex. The Trust handles around 140,000 new A&E patients annually, with two major hospitals: Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury and Maidstone Hospital, along with Fordcombe Hospital near Tunbridge Wells, offering NHS and private services.
