We are a growing wellness tech company looking for a lead Electrical/Hardware Engineer to take full ownership of our wrist-worn wearable device. In this role, you won't just be a cog in a machine - you will be the primary voice for hardware, leading PCB design and hardware improvements for our current product, architecting our next-generation platform from the ground up.
The Role
Based on-site in Stevenage, you will be our dedicated hardware expert. You’ll bridge the gap between initial concepts and mass production, working closely with external manufacturing partners and internal stakeholders to deliver high-performance, low-power wearable tech.
What You’ll Do:
* Architect the Future: Define the hardware architecture for our next-gen wearable (MCU/SoC selection, power, sensors, comms).
* Own the PCB: Lead redesigns for cost, reliability, and power efficiency.
* Drive Production: Act as the primary technical interface with our contract manufacturers (NPI, DFM, test strategy).
* Solve Problems: Diagnose field issues, manage component obsolescence, and improve battery life and system robustness.
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven Track Record: You’ve designed and shipped electronics/PCBs for consumer or medical devices.
* Low-Power Experts: Strong knowledge of battery-powered systems, power management, and MCU-based embedded hardware.
* Hands-on Skills: Comfortable in the lab with bring-up, debugging, and board validation.
* Self-Starters: You can work with ambiguity, set your own direction, and communicate technical needs to non-technical teams.
Qualifications:
* Degree (or equivalent experience) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or closely related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status is desirable but not required.
* Evidence of relevant professional development and/or shipped hardware portfolio is advantageous.
Why Join Us?
* High Impact: You will literally shape the future of our hardware.
* Full Ownership: You lead the hardware outcomes and have a direct line to leadership.
* Fast-Paced: A small-team environment where decisions happen quickly.
