Role Description
This is a full‑time, on‑site Estimator role based in Tipton. The position involves engineering and preparing detailed cost estimates for mechanical and electrical projects across a wide range of construction sectors, including high‑rise commercial, residential, leisure, education, and advanced manufacturing and technology. The right person will have strong communication skills and the ability to consider design‑led, cost‑effective solutions.
Key responsibilities include analysing project requirements, evaluating drawings and specifications, sourcing and assessing supplier quotations, and ensuring all submissions comply with industry standards. The role also involves managing tender documentation, assessing project risks, and providing accurate budgeting and cost analysis to support successful project delivery.
There will be direct communication with clients, including opportunities to build long‑term relationships with repeat customers through the presentation of tender returns and ongoing commercial support.
Qualifications
Proficiency in cost estimation, budgeting, and financial analysis
Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and project specifications
Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills
Proven experience in the mechanical and electrical services or construction sector is a plus
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking abilities
Proficiency in relevant software tools such as estimating and project management software
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet project deadlines
Relevant academic qualifications in construction, engineering, or a related field
