Overview
We are excited to launch our Level 2 Traffic Management Apprenticeship programme in partnership with First for Apprenticeships, where you can develop your skills and grow professionally, setting a solid foundation for your future career. This 21-month programme will be delivered using a combination of on-site experience, guidance and training from an experienced workplace mentor, and industry-recognised training delivered in the workplace leading to an apprenticeship qualification.
Responsibilities
* As an Apprentice Traffic Management Operative you will safely deliver, install, collect, exchange and maintain temporary traffic equipment (temporary traffic lights, signage, frames, sandbags and cones) and assist commuters travel safely through temporary roadworks.
* Check equipment and systems are fit for use and fully operational.
* Record any damage.
* Maintain battery banks.
* Assist with the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.
* Manage checklists.
* Complete timesheets and risk assessments.
* Ensure vehicles, tools and other equipment are maintained and ready to use.
* Assist with maintaining a safe, tidy and clean yard.
* Be set up for success with support and sufficient time to work toward the apprenticeship, with opportunities to get involved in local community and social value activities across the business.
Requirements and expectations
* Be at least 18 years of age and hold a full manual UK driving licence.
* Happy to work 730am to 5pm.
* Great communication skills, a can-do attitude, and being a team player who is reliable and punctual.
* Working in and on highways can be dangerous; an appreciation of safety and a commitment to not taking risks or shortcuts is essential.
