Birchwood Medical Centre is seeking a conscientious, flexible and reliable part-time medical report administrator who can support the efficient handling of our medical reports.
This is a part-time post working 12 hours per week as follows:
Monday to Thursday 10.00 am to 1.00 pm
The hourly rate for this role will be reviewed in April.
Main duties of the job
Therole will include, but is not limited to, processing incoming medical report requests from various sources such as the DWP, Capita, solicitors, insurance companies and patients. Checking that patient consent has been received and generating a GPR report if necessary, then passing to relevant GP. When report completed, photocopying/scanning it, recording on the patient record and posting the original to the requestor.
Generating invoices for medical reports in accordance with practice policy.
Thesuccessful applicant will have excellent customer service and telephone skills,be enthusiastic and organised, with excellent computer skills, be flexible andable to adapt to change and have the ability to work as part of a team or alonewith minimum supervision and be able to multi-task in a busy environment.

Birchwood Medical Centre is a busy GP practice with 11,000 patients. We have 3 GP partners and 7 salaried GP's, a nurse clinician, practice nurses, a nursing associate, HCA/phlebotomists and an expanding complement of ARRs staff. Our administrative team consists of receptionists, administrators, scanning/coding administrators and medical secretaries.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or above in English and Maths
Experience
* Experience of dealing with patients/public
* Experience of working in general practice or a healthcare environment.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills
