POSITION SUMMARY
The Health Services Administrator is responsible for managing the institution's healthcare delivery system, monitoring health service contracts, and consulting with the Regional Manager or designee on administrative and clinical issues.
* Coordinates and monitors the preparation of the institutional health services budget.
* Supervises requisition of supplies and equipment, maintaining property and equipment records.
* Assists in developing and maintaining staff schedules, making adjustments as needed.
* Approves monthly statistical reports and ensures timely submission.
* Maintains confidentiality of medical records in compliance with HIPAA.
* Monitors performance using national standards and contract deliverables.
* Performs employee relations functions including supervision, recruitment, and performance management.
* Supervises scheduling of outside patient appointments and reviews referrals for appropriateness.
* Addresses audit findings through corrective action plans.
* Responds to inquiries or grievances from the Corporate Risk Management Department.
* Works with Clinical and Education staff to ensure CPR and First Aid training compliance.
* Collaborates on internal projects and participates in CQI programs.
* Performs additional duties as assigned after training.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum qualifications include:
* Current West Virginia Registered Nursing License
* Current CPR Certification
* Associates degree in a healthcare-related field (Bachelor's preferred)
Preferred experience:
* 3 years in a supervisory/leadership role or healthcare administration
* 2 years in administrative or correctional nursing (can substitute for Bachelor's degree)
* Correctional healthcare experience preferred
