Maintenance Engineer

Our client is currently looking for a number of maintenance engineers to join their existing team. You ideally will come from a maintenance background, with experience in sectors such as manufacturing, or production.
The Role
You will be responsible for maintaining plant, equipment, and services in line with the site’s PPM programme and statutory requirements. This includes carrying out planned maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and ensuring all work is completed safely and recorded on the CMMS.
Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs
*
Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
*
Raise, update, and close all maintenance tasks on the CMMS
*
Identify and report defects, safety concerns, and improvement opportunities
*
Monitor and request spare parts as required
*
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies
*
Support audits, continuous improvement activities, and cross-functional teams
*
Supervise contractors and mentor maintenance assistants where applicable
Skills & Experience
*
Experience in aggregates, recycling, or construction manufacturing environments
*
Strong mechanical maintenance skills (electrical skills an advantage)
*
Proven fault-finding and problem-solving ability
*
Confident using hand and power tools and carrying out welding/fabrication work
*
Minimum 5 years’ experience in OXY and MIG/TIG welding on heavy plant
*
Good communication, planning, and time-management skills
Qualifications
*
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (preferred)
*
Relevant trade certifications including Abrasive Wheels, Lifting & Slinging, Working at Height
*
MEWP (IPAF), FLT, Telehandler, and Confined Space (desirable)
*
Working knowledge of regulations such as PUWER and Working at Height
