Position Summary
Job Title: Building Surveyor
Location: Bristol or London
Type: Permanent
Remuneration: Competitive salary based on skills, experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities
You will lead projects to reinstate commercial properties after damage, with project values ranging from £50k to £5m. Depending on the project's size and complexity, you may work alone or lead a small team with QS’s, engineers, and architects.
Your responsibilities include technical reporting, defects diagnosis, preparing Schedule of Works, tender documents, contract administration, project management, empathy for clients who have suffered a loss and delivering professional reports within tight deadlines.
Managing a workload and making decisions under pressure are crucial. The role also involves supporting and developing less experienced colleagues and promoting team skills to internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
* Professional Qualifications: MRICS Chartered Building Surveyor or suitably experienced and working towards becoming Chartered, with a building-related degree.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Extensive knowledge of building construction and relevant legislation.
* Able to plan projects to ensure robust control of time, cost and quality.
* Experience in schedule preparation and contract administration of building projects.
* Highly responsible and decisive, and a team player.
* Ability to proactively manage your own caseload.
* Composure under pressure, excellent communication skills and empathy.
