Salary: £109,725 – £145,478 per annum, pro rata

Job Overview
We are seeking a Consultant Haematologist to join our internationally recognised, forward‑thinking team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This new full‑time post focuses on Non‑Malignant Haematology, with a particular emphasis on Immunohaematology, Thrombosis or willingness to develop these areas.
Main Responsibilities
* Outpatient clinics – specialist non‑malignant haematology and general haematology (as agreed based on appointment interest)
* Medical cover for non‑malignant haematology inpatients, including daily ward rounds (alternating with colleagues)
* Medical cover for non‑malignant haematology day‑case patients (alternating with colleagues)
* Satellite clinics
* Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and other clinical governance activities
* Research, audit, management, attendance at meetings and continued professional development
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* Full and specialist registration with the GMC, with a licence to practice (or eligible for registration within six months of interview)
* If UK‑trained: holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or within six months of award of CCT at interview; if non‑UK‑trained: evidence of equivalence to UK CCT
* FRCPath or equivalent; MRCP or equivalent; GCP certification
* Broad experience of non‑malignant haematology, including haematology, thrombosis, haemoglobinopathies and general haematology
* Clinical audit and clinical research experience
* Mobility – ability to undertake travel requirements of the post
Desirable
* Higher degree (PhD or MD) by postgraduate thesis
* Relevant certificate in communication
* Experience in clinical and laboratory research
* Experience in budget management
* Experience supervising medical trainees and teaching all grades of staff, including undergraduates
* Formal accreditation in medical education
