The company manufacture bespoke special purpose machinery and are based close to Blackburn. Due to a vast number of new projects coming through, the company is looking to hire a Design Engineer for their growing engineering department. The role of the Design Engineer is as follows: * Produce complete detail drawings of components from new designs and/or from previous customer repeat/duplicate designs. * Construct Bills of Material electronically via IFS engineering software. * Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies and tools, using AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D software. * Complete calculations for the sizing and selection of mechanical components * Work with manufacturing engineers on Design for Manufacture and Assembly improvements * Support the team in research, resolving and servicing technical problems from shop floor, field service engineers or customers. * Occasional travel to customer sites to support sales and/or field service activities. * Collaborating with Project engineers and other engineers within the team. * Maintain filing systems.
