Job Purpose
To provide care, guidance, and emotional support to young people living in residential settings. The role requires individuals who are committed to investing in the lives of children and young people, helping them develop resilience, independence, and positive life outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment aligned with care standards and the home's ethos.
* Support the development and implementation of individual care and placement plans.
* Assist young people in managing emotional and behavioral challenges.
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to the administrative functions of the home.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and external agencies to ensure holistic support.
* Attend relevant meetings, reviews, and training sessions.
* Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of care and support.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria:
* Genuine passion for working with children and young people.
* NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent, or willingness to work towards it.
* PMVA, Team Teach, or equivalent physical intervention training.
* Experience in youth work, social care, or similar settings.
* Ability to build trusting relationships with young people facing emotional and behavioral difficulties.
* Understanding of safeguarding practices and relevant childcare legislation.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS disclosure required.
