We're looking to recruit a Floating Support Officer on behalf of our well-established social housing client in Crewe. This is an ongoing, temporary role, working 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday. The role involves a mix ofmunity-based and home working, so a driving licence with access to your own vehicle and business insurance will be essential.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with backgrounds in Sheltered Housing, Retirement Living, Supported Housing or Independent Living who enjoy a varied, people‑focused role supporting customers to remain living safely and independently within their own homes.
Key responsibilities:
1. Provide a flexible Supported Living service across a defined geographical area
2. Carry out wellbeing visits, reviews and updates to support plans
3. Install, maintain and remove portable emergency alarm equipment
4. Respond to emergency alerts and service-related incidents across the patch
5. Signpost or refer customers to internal teams, family members or external agencies
6. Advocate for customers who may find it difficult to represent their own needs
7. Maintain accurate manual and electronic records
What you'll need to succeed
8. Experience of working in a retirement, independent, or supported living setting, carrying out the same or similar duties as above
9. A good knowledge, awareness, and understanding of social housing and safeguarding legislation, best practice, and procedures
10. Driving licence with access to own vehicle
11. Understanding of the challenges associated with ageing, disability and daily living
12. Confident lone worker with the ability to work on your own initiative
