A Vacancy at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. Healthcare Support Worker (HSCW) – Theatre Department at Hospital of St Cross, Rugby & University Hospital Coventry and Cedar Ward, Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.
Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Nursing staff in the delivery of personal care and assistance for patients within Theatres at University Hospital Coventry, Cedar Ward and Theatres at the Hospital of St Cross, Rugby.
* Assisting and providing personal care for patients in Rugby, St Cross Hospital as part of trauma and orthopaedics care.
* Help patients feel calm and comfortable before, during and after operations, working with theatre nurses, anaesthetists, surgeons, operating department practitioners and administrative staff.
Qualifications
* BTEC level 2 (or equivalent) health and social care qualification or relevant experience in a person‑centred/public facing role.
* Previous experience of care or a person‑centred/public facing role.
* Must provide an immunisation and vaccination report from a UK occupational health provider or UK GP.
* Must be aged 16–18 if applying via apprenticeship programmes; otherwise must be 18 years or over.
* UK sponsorship not available for this role.
Salary & Hours
Band 2 HCSW – £24,465 + enhancements. Full or part‑time posts available; salary pro‑rata for part‑time staff.
Application Process
Assessment centre and interviews will take place on 09 March 2026 at UHCW Clinical Science Building for shortlisted candidates.
Successful candidates will receive a week‑long induction, mandatory enrolment on the "Time to Care" programme and the Care Certificate Qualification.
