Currently we have an excellent opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist to join a well-established multidisciplinary team within a purpose-built acute inpatient mental health service.
You’ll be supporting adults with enduring and acute mental illness across single-gender wards. This role offers the chance to be clinically involved and professionally supported in a setting designed to stabilise and promote recovery.
Salary: Up to £165k dependant on experience + £8,400 car allowance + £10,000 bonus
Position: Consultant Psychiatrist
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Setting: Acute inpatient mental health – male and female wards
Location: Exeter, Devon
Your key responsibilities will be;
• Oversee care for up to 16 inpatients with complex needs
• Lead on diagnosis and evidence-based treatment planning
• Collaborate closely with MDT including nursing, OT, psychology and social work
• Ensure compliance with the Mental Health Act and liaison with MoJ if applicable
• Participate in second-tier on-call rota as the RC
• Complete documentation including discharge summaries within 24 hours
• Support service development and uphold clinical governance
For this role, we’re looking for someone who has;
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise
• MRCPsych or equivalent approved by the Royal College
• Section 12(2) and Approved Clinician status
• Experience in general adult inpatient or community psychiatry
• Confidence managing risk and contributing to multidisciplinary working
